Road Rovers were made by Hallmark in 1975 and 1983 through 1985. They are about the size of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car. They are made of heavy diecast metal. There were actually a couple of different manufactures and castings for each car.
In 1975, Road Rovers were issued with white wall tires and displayed in individual cardboard box merchandisers. For added fun, there was also a card board mechanic's garage available that featured a hand operated elevator.
Beginning in 1983, Road Rovers were issued with Road Rover written in silver on the tires, rather than white walls. In 1984, they were displayed in individual cardboard merchandisers with background display scenes. The 1983 cars were also offered in 1984 and 1985 but without the individual merchandisers. with the stock number.
