Micro Machines were made by Galoob and tiny scale playsets and vehicles that were slightly larger than N scale.  They were first introduced in 1987 and stopped in the US in 1999. They are 1/10th the size of a matchbox toy car putting them at a scale of around 1:152, the smallest toy cars on the market.

Many different styles of Micros were made including all the popular cars and trucks of the times, trains, emergency vehicles, tanks, boats, airplanes, helicopters, and motorcycles.  They offered many collections:
Corvette collection, Adventures, Blaze & Roar, Canadian Sets, Classy Chromers, Deluxe Collection, Drivers, European Issues, Exploration Series, Galaxy Voyagers, Gliders, Highway Warriors,  Indy 500 Starting Grid, Licence Plates, Micro Lights, National Geographic, Impostors, Insiders , McDonalds, Macro Machines, Private Eyes, Radicators, Remote control, Rip Cord Racers, Rockin' Wheels, Semi Truck, Shake & Sniff Semis, Ships ina Bottle, Silver collection, Snap Backs, Speed Shop Cars, Stock Car Superstars, Stunt Maniacs, Sun Color Changers, Super micro lights, Super 10 Collection, Super 20 collection, Target collector set, Tiny Tins, Trains, Triplesiders, Trophy series, Tuff trax, Ultra Movers, US Sets, X-Rays, 4x4 Crushers and 4x4 Crankers

The Tuff Trax series contained many of the popular TNT Motorsports Monster Trucks including the legendary Grave Digger truck.

They licensed many science fiction and movie franchises including:
Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Marvel Comics, Starship Troopers, Men In Black, the Indiana Jones Trilogy, James Bond, Power Rangers, Biker Mice from Mars and MIB.  After Hasbros' buyout, they also came out with Winner's Circle NASCAR and GI Joe themed cars and playsets.

Micro Machines also utilized several diverse features such as color-changing cars and "Private Eyes" vehicles that even allowed one to peek inside and view an illustration of the inner contents.

Micro Machine sized cars produced by other manufactures like Charm Max , Speedeez , Funrise, Hasbro , Mattel's Zowees, Ideal ,Imperial ,Majorette, MAL, Racing Champions and Road Champs.

Some of these aren't true knockoffs in the sense they ripped off  Micro Machines small car idea.  Mattel's Zowees came out in the 1970's, long before the first Micro Machines.  I'm listing them this way since Micro Machines is almost a generic term describing small toy vehicles.
